Coachella, music's biggest weekend of the summer, is fast approaching.  There are many health and safety precautions to take, as there are at all music festivals, but partying in the hot desert is different.  To make the most out of the weekend, here are six tips for surviving Coachella this year:  Drink a lot of water!  Although this may seem like an obvious one, the desert heat will make you dehydrated quicker. Bring a reusable water bottle with you and fill it up every chance you get at the water fountains stationed around the festival.  Bring a portable phone charger.  You never know when your phone will run out of battery, and you don’t want to be separated from your friends.  To save some battery life, keep your screen brightness at the lowest and put it on airplane mode when you’re not using it.  If you usually pay with a card, make sure to bring some cash with you, as some vendors don’t take cards.  Organize a meeting spot with your friends.  The reception is known to be bad at Coachella, so it’s crucial to make a plan with your group.  So, if someone gets lost or separated from everyone, you can all touch down at base.  Wear sunscreen and chapstick. You must remember that you are in desert conditions, and the sun’s rays and heat are super intense.  Wear practical clothing.  Although the days are scorching hot, the nights are much cooler - prepare to bring layers with you.  Keep in mind that only medium-sized backpacks are allowed inside the festival grounds.
