Drinking Coffee May Prevent Early Death From Sitting All Day

With most of us spending hours behind our desks, a new study may bring some hope and it comes in the form of coffee. Researchers from Soochow University found that drinking coffee may help decrease the risk of death associated with sitting all day. The study analyzed data from over 10,000 US adults and found that regular coffee drinkers seemed to be protected from these effects. People who sat for more than 8 hours a day had a 46% higher risk of dying from any cause and a 79% higher risk of dying from cardiovascular disease. Those who had more than 540mg of coffee daily had a 33% lower risk of dying from any cause and a 54% lower risk of dying from cardiovascular disease. Non-coffee drinkers who sat for over six hours daily had a 58% higher risk of dying than coffee drinkers who sat for less than six hours.
