Watch: A “ghost boat” arrives in Sicily, Italy, carrying 20 Tunisian migrants

Video prices: IQD 240/day

A small “ghost boat” carrying about 20 Tunisian migrants arrived on a beach on the Italian island of Sicily yesterday, Tuesday, and the migrants quickly hid under the vegetation adjacent to the sandy beach. The Mari Amico environmental group explained that boats arrive at the beach several times a week carrying migrants who disembark from those boats and run to the wooded area to hide. Reuters reported that the Italian police arrested ten of those immigrants yesterday, while ten others fled. Local residents believe that the "mother ship" brings migrants off the country's territorial waters, where it drops them off in small boats called "ghost boats" that carry them to shore. The Italian government promised to find a new approach to the immigration issue in the wake of the hard-line campaign against rescue ships launched by former Interior Minister Matteo Salvini, leader of the far-right League party.
