Tinder is introducing a new feature that will allow users in the U.S. to run background checks on their matches. Tinder’s parent company Match Group has partnered with non-profit background check platform Garbo. To do a background check on Tinder, users will need their match’s first and last name or their first name and phone number. While the checks will reveal any public records of violent crime, drug charges or traffic violations will not show up. Match Group plans to include the feature in all of its platforms in the future. In addition to Tinder, the company also owns PlentyOfFish, OkCupid and Hinge.
